Another Year

I turned 34 years old today. Technically, I'm still 33 until 5:15 PM, but I guess it really doesn't matter. I don't feel 34, but then again, what the hell is 34 supposed to feel like?

You couldn't pay me enough money to be a teenager again, or in my early 20's for that matter. I liked my mid to late-20's. Lots of good times.

So, I took the day off from work today, which is a first for me. I've been dragging lately and this was the perfect excuse to stay at home.

tracyellen-
I stumbled upon your blog today, and was enthralled for the better part of an hour. It's strange, how people seem to sort of find each other. Reading your blog, I'm drawn to how similar we are. First off, I am originally from Moline (currently residing in Northern California) and am hoping my husband and I will get a chance to move back to the QC in the near future. Secondly, I too am a writer with mental/emotional blocks. I have written hundreds of stories "in my head" much like you, but have never sat down to write them. I always feel it won't be "good enough", no one will want to publish it, I don't have the time or energy. I am the Queen of excuses. I just recently quit a job so I could stop making excuses and do it. I needed to find my creative voice, and I knew if I didn't do it now, I would forever regret it. It's so cliche, but true, that to find out if there is a net underneath, you must jump without thought or fear. I did just that... now let's see if I can stay afloat. I hope you do write whatever it is you are dreaming of. Even if it's just for you... it just might set you free.

I also hope your health is improving and that you get some good news regarding whatever tests you're having done.

Happy Birthday!
